Prometheus Books Publishing Internship
Amherst, NY
Bio
We are a secular, humanist, freethought press, focusing on works in philosophy, popular science, popular psychology, health, self-help, history and related topics.
In 2009 Prometheus Books will celebrate forty years of quality publishing for courageous readers of every generation who seek the light of reason in a world where fear of the unknown often leads to groundless assumptions, who carry the torch of critical intelligence to guide them when others offer easy answers to pressing problems, and who have within them the exuberant spark of natural human curiosity to explore new ideas when others settle for comfortable complacency. We’re provocative, we’re progressive, and we’re tremendously proud of the fertile ground our distinguished authors have broken in popular science, philosophy, psychology, critical thinking, critiques of religious extremism, and more recently our successful foray into science fiction/fantasy with our internationally recognized Pyr ® imprint.
For four decades we at Prometheus have set our standards and our goals ever higher to meet and exceed the expectations of intelligent, demanding, and adventurous readers who are challenged by new ideas and enriched by diverse points of view.
We invite you to join us as we explore the fascinating new vistas that await us as we embark on our fifth decade of independent publishing for the twenty-first century.
